My name is Emily Landry, I am a Senior and I have been taking art classes at John Glenn High School since my Sophomore year. I've been enrolled in Ceramics 1,2, and 3, and Studio Art. These classes are nice because I'm aloud to create my own projects with my own way of things. Some goals for myself in art class is that I should finish everything on time and do everything I'm capable of.
Some skills and techniques that I have learned from Ceramics is how to wedge clay and use different techniques to make various different projects including a teapot to a box. Some goals for Ceramics specifically is that I should use proper amount of glaze on each project and smooth everything to perfection
Some skills and techniques that I have learned from Studio Art is that I can make various different colors from only black and white acrylic paint, and I can shade a picture to look exactly like a person. Some goals for studio art is that I want for people to think that I have taken foundations and I haven't.
One project in Ceramics that was really successful this year was my portrait head. This project was well done and smoothed. Even though I wasn't thrilled with how the glaze turned out, it was still my best project this semester
One project in Studio Art that I enjoyed doing and looks the best is my Portrait of a Loved One. This project took a lot of time but the outcome was worth it. Doing a project for someone meant more to me because I wanted it to be perfect.
